Laboratory Fixed Prosthodontics

Catégorie de coursSection Anglais

Level : Third year

This practical session focuses on the restoration of endodontically treated teeth using prefabricated posts combined with resin core build-up. The technique emphasizes a conservative and biomimetic approach to re-establish coronal tooth structure while ensuring adequate retention and resistance form for definitive restorations. Participants will learn the clinical steps of post space preparation, selection and adaptation of prefabricated fiber or metallic posts, adhesive cementation protocols, and incremental resin core build-up. Special attention is given to ferrule design, stress distribution, and material compatibility to optimize mechanical performance and long-term success. At the end of the session, students will be able to perform a predictable post and core reconstruction using prefabricated posts and resin, ensuring functional and structural rehabilitation of compromised teeth.
